Comments: I am 57 years old and had a deformed foot for many years that was very painful and inhibiting my ability to walk. The problem was caused by a severe bunion which required a very complicated surgery that Dr. Ellis performed in January 2022. I was in the operating room for five hours and my recovery time was fourteen weeks.
During my initial appointment with Dr. Ellis, I was immediately impressed with his knowledge, experience, passion for his craft and I was convinced that he could successfully perform the surgery. He not only took the time to explain the surgery and recovery in great detail but also showed me numerous examples of similar surgeries that he had successfully performed. The results are AMAZING! My foot looks great and it is nearly 100% fully functional to date. I anticipate that it will only get even better over time.
I also want to give credit to Dr. Ellis’s PA Stephen Costigliola. Stephen handled all my preliminary and post-surgical appointments. Stephen is equally knowledgeable, confident and he was exceptional at managing my expectations and communicating with me and my family throughout the whole process. Dr. Ellis and Stephen Costigliola are a great team.
I also want to give credit to Dr. Ellis’s office staff and the entire team at The Hospital for Special Surgery. From beginning to end, my experience was exceptional and I highly recommend this team and hospital to anyone in need of foot surgery.
