    About the Experience

Comments: I came to Dr Ellis a year ago with extreme ankle pain after 18 months post op on a previous subtalar joint fusion. He changed my life. After reviewing images that day he discovered that my previous fusion hadn’t taken. He’s to classy to say it but also that my previous surgeon had botched my previous surgery.
Dr. Ellis and his care team are meticulous, as is HSS. There is not one time I wasn’t quickly, efficiently and compassionately responded too; both in the hospital and through this entire process.
I felt heard; this is a huge positive after being ignored for so long. I was vigorously tested for bone health and viability, and my past medical history was gone over with a fine tooth comb. I had surgery in June of 2023. My experience with surgery was great, I was well informed and cared for. I stayed in the hospital 3 days as they got post op pain managed and made sure it was safe to go home. So many things were done so differently. If you need foot/ankle surgery Dr. Ellis is a doctor who gives a hoot and really listens, you won’t regret it. The photos I posted show one screw in my original surgery and two in my surgery with Dr. Ellis.
